Staple Removal and Post-Operative Wound Care

Removing skin staples requires controlled instrument placement and careful attention to the healing incision. The Pocket Nurse® Staple Removal Kit allows staple removal to be incorporated into veterinary wound care exercises as the next step following stapled wound closure.

Learners can work through positioning the removal instrument, lifting and extracting staples, and progressing systematically along a simulated closure. The exercise can also incorporate evaluation of the wound before and during removal, reinforcing the importance of assessing healing rather than treating staple removal as an isolated task.

Pair the kit with compatible stapling pads, wound closure trainers, and teaching skin staplers to create a training sequence that follows a wound from closure through staple removal.
