A long, wide elastic wrap built for compression bandaging – controlling swelling, supporting a limb, or holding a dressing under even pressure rather than the light hold a conforming gauze wrap provides. The extended 144 inch length covers larger patients or multiple wrap passes without running short mid-application.
Length Matters More Than It Seems Until You Run Out Mid-Wrap
Compression bandaging depends on even, sustained pressure across the full wrap, and running out of material partway through a limb forces an awkward second roll and an uneven pressure transition right at the overlap. At 144 inches, this bandage gives enough length to complete a full compression wrap on most patients in one continuous pass.
The elastic material provides the sustained compressive hold needed for swelling control or limb support, distinct from the light, non-compressive hold of a conforming gauze roll – the two serve different bandaging goals and often get used together, gauze first for absorbency and coverage, elastic wrap over it for compression.
