Identifying an abnormal ear starts with understanding normal anatomy. The Canine Ear Healthy/Diseased Model places healthy and diseased anatomy in direct comparison, making differences easier to recognize and discuss.

Students can examine the structures of the ear while learning how disease may alter their appearance. The comparison supports instruction in ear anatomy, otic examination, otitis, and other conditions encountered when evaluating canine ears.

Used alongside otoscopy instruction, the model can also help students connect what they see on an anatomical model with the structures they will later identify through an otoscope.
